The Office of Community College Research and Leadership (OCCRL) is thrilled to offer data and guidance on adult learners and their unique needs, especially those in the ALICE population (asset limited, income constrained, employed). Our connections with Illinois community colleges and other partners allow us to bridge ongoing trends in practice, policy and research for this growing and complex student demographic. Inspired by The Belk Center and other national leaders, our research associates have put together the OCCRL Adult Learner Guidebook to address the growing need among Illinois community colleges for information about adult learners and ALICE students. This guidebook includes information about key subgroups and is distinct in its focus on the ALICE segment of the adult-learner population. Our team is thrilled to continue updating and hosting these resources for our local and state partners.
