The Voices of First-generation Parenting Students in Postsecondary Education

As part of the First-generation Student Success Conference, this presentation by Marielisbet Perez will highlight the narratives and successes within her study of parenting students and provide an opportunity to discuss the challenges faced by first-generation students who are raising children in postsecondary education. The purpose of the research is to challenge the literature on first-generation students in undergraduate programs by including the narratives of first-generation students.
