Ahja Howard, the director of the SUCCESS program, will provide welcome remarks and introductions.

Session 1: Mapping Equity Goals Through Logic Models

This professional development session introduces participants to logic models as tools for designing, implementing, and evaluating equity-focused initiatives in community colleges. Through interactive discussion and an applied example, participants will learn how to connect institutional goals, strategies, and outcomes within a clear framework. Emphasis will be placed on aligning logic models with community college missions, student success metrics, and equity-centered practices that promote access, inclusion, and equitable outcomes for diverse learners.

Session 2: Race-Conscious Caring in Educational Leadership

Drawing from his recently published co-authored book, Race-Conscious Caring in Educational Leadership: A Narrative Ethics, Dr. Flores will lead participants through a professional learning session designed to deepen race-conscious, equity-focused leadership practice. Using a structured moral narrative writing process, participants will explore how their personal histories, identities, and moral commitments shape their leadership approaches. This session fosters inquiry, reflection, and collective dialogue to help leaders cultivate ethically grounded, justice-oriented educational communities.
