Expanding Access and Addressing Equity Gaps

Aims of the Idea Lab

Idea Lab Focus Groups

The Idea Lab Focus Groups generate rich conversations about broadening participation in guided-pathway programs of study, in an effort to diversify those with access and redress inequities stemming from racialized equity outcomes gaps.

The Idea Lab conversations among expert faculty, administrative leaders, educational researchers, resource providers, and workforce and policy analysts provide data to inform a gap analysis, modification, and the building of a framework that explicitly addresses racial equity in guided pathways.

Idea Lab Focus Group participants were drawn from a targeted recruitment effort that represents a diversity of viewpoints from multiple stakeholders. In total, 29 individuals from various institutions and organizations across the country were invited to participate in the focus groups. These individuals represent community colleges, four-year colleges and universities, minority-serving institutions, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations.
