Jeongsan Hwang

Research Assistant

Jeongsan Hwang is a second-year doctoral student in the Department of Education Policy, Organization, and Leadership with a concentration in higher education. She was born and grew up in South Korea, where she earned a bachelor's and master's degree. Before arriving on the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus, Hwang worked as a research fellow at Ajou Medical School in South Korea, where she helped establish a continuous quality improvement framework for the medical curriculum. Her primary research focus is on quantitative methodology with further interests in cultivating capital for nontraditional students, particularly adult learners; connecting lifelong education with higher education from a policy perspective; and enhancing democratic values in higher education through a civic engagement perspective.
