H.M. Kuneyl

Senior Research Assistant

    (She/her)

    H.M. Kuneyl is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Education Policy, Organization & Leadership at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. With dual concentrations in higher education and history of education, she focuses on the history of community college and the experiences of racially minoritized students. Her dissertation centers on the history of Hinds County Community College-Utica, a historically Black community college (HBCC).

    Kuneyl is a first-generation college student with experience in student affairs and academic affairs. She brings her experiences in higher education from Texas, Virginia, and Illinois to the Office of Community College Research and Leadership, where she serves as the coordinator for the Illinois Community College Leadership Institute.
