Promoting Student College/Career Success with the Illinois Career Cluster Model workshops

The Pathways Resource Center and OCCRL, with funding support from the Illinois State Board of Education, are pleased to present a workshop Promoting Student College/Career Success with the Illinois Career Cluster Model workshop on April 18th in Oakbrook, IL and on May 9th in Bloomington, IL. This workshop will focus on implementation of the Illinois Career Cluster Model in high schools, as a mechanism to promote college and career readiness. Participants will learn key terminology, including the 16 career clusters, career pathways, and the development of high school student Programs of Study. OCCRL staff and secondary school representatives will present on the development of high school plans of study focused on the 16 career cluster areas, which are intended to facilitate students’ transitions into postsecondary education and the workforce, as well as the implementation of Teacher Advisor programs that assist students with college/career exploration. This workshop is free to educators in Illinois high schools. High schools are encouraged to send teams of 2-4 educators to this workshop.
