Xueli Wang is a professor of higher education in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She studies college students’ learning, pathways, and success with a focus on community colleges and STEM education. Her longitudinal, mixed-methods research projects address inequities in the pathway to transfer and beyond in STEM fields, as well as the role of math contextualization in shaping the educational experiences and trajectories of community college students. Drawing upon advanced quantitative analyses as well as qualitative and mixed-methods research, her work has appeared in numerous publications such as the American Educational Research Journal, Educational Evaluation and Policy Analysis, Educational Researcher, the Review of Higher Education, the Journal of Higher Education, Research in Higher Education, and Community College Review. Wang was honored in 2015 with the Barbara K. Townsend Emerging Scholar Award by the Council for the Study of Community Colleges.
