Critical Learning on Community Colleges: The American Council on Education Framing Discussions for Higher Education Leaders

The American Council on Education recently commissioned a series of five briefs for presidents and senior college leaders, which focus on important and emerging topics within the community college sector. These topics include strategic leadership and change management, the importance of campus climate in student persistence and fostering equitable student outcomes, engaging faculty in student success efforts, international student enrollment, and contextualizing workforce education within the current policy and practice environments.

In this closing plenary session at the Council for the Study of Community Colleges Conference, Jonathan Turk, the associate director of the American Council on Education, will moderate a discussion with the authors of the series, emphasizing their briefs, takeaways, and implications for community college presidents and their teams.
