OCCRL Director Eboni Zamani-Gallaher will deliver the closing remarks at the 2019 Sloan University Center of Exemplary Mentoring Mini-Conference at the Levis Faculty Center. The title of Dr. Zamani-Gallaher's talk is "Scholarly Activism: Towards the Purpose-driven Professoriate and Scholarship Beyond Status Quo."
During the conference, participants will present a poster (approximately 20 to 24) or give 3-minute lightning talks on their research (approximately 15 presentations).
The morning workshop, facilitated by Patricia Simpson of the School of Chemical Sciences, will focus on how scholars can employ their strengths to build better teams.
The afternoon portion of the event, led by Celia Mathews Elliott of the Department of Physics, will center on the essential elements of a project summary. Elliott will also show examples of deficient project summaries and provide practical tips on how to write effective project summaries.
A light breakfast and lunch will be provided.
