Speakers: HyeJin Tina Yeo, Angel Velez, Eboni Zamani-Gallaher, and Heather Fox

Experiences in STEM Across Contexts

The role of Hispanic-serving community colleges (HSCCs) has been overlooked since research on Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) has centered on four-year colleges and universities. In this brownbag talk, we will share preliminary findings of a mixed method, National Science Foundation-funded study that explores students of color who are transitioning to and through the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in HSCCs. Specifically, this presentation will focus on what factors serve as support systems and challenges for fostering pathways through STEM education in HSCCs.

This talk will be a part of the conference hosted by the Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE).
