National Council for Workforce Education 2015 Annual Conference\nEmployer
engagement is recognized as instrumental to the design and delivery of com
munity college technical programs. The increase in technical programs and
credentials resulting from the Department of Labor’s TAACCCT program has p
rompted interest in the roles played by employers in community college tec
hnical programs. This session will examine employer engagement from three
perspectives: the policy and programmatic contexts affecting employer enga
gement\, the activities that employers have carried out in technical progr
am development and delivery and facilitating students’ attainment of jobs\
, and approaches to evaluating employers’ engagement in college technical
programs. This session will draw from the experiences of TAACCCT grantees.
