Over half of Hispanic-serving institutions (HSIs) are HSCCs\, a nd approximately 80% of HSCCs are in urban communities with a critical mas s of Black and Latino male attendees. Minority-serving community colleges have a largely unrecognized role in the degree attainment of students of c olor specifically the impact on Hispanic and other racially minoritized st udent outcomes has been largely unexplored. The presenters will facilitate a discussion on the intersection of student and institutional identity\, talk with attendees about the disconnect between college designations and their responsiveness (or lack thereof) to Black and Latino men. Findings f rom case study research will be shared pertaining to academic/social exper iences and challenges navigating transfer pathways leading to further educ ation.
