Dual Credit
The Articulation Project was developed in 2001 as a joint initiative of the Office of Community College Research and Leadership (OCCRL), the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), and the Illinois Community College Board (ICCB). The project was created to address the need for better articulation between secondary and postsecondary educational institutions in order to improve the transition from high school to college. This project was designed to further advance relationships, especially in the context of the rapid development of dual credit offerings in the state.

Goals:
1. To conduct research related to the improvement of systems for secondary/postsecondary articulation and collaboration.
2. To enhance communication around the state on articulation issues.
3. To serve as a resource to policy makers and practioners on good practices related to articulation and dual credit.
4. To disseminate information on articulation and dual credit programs in Illinois and nationally.
Activities:
Activities include the formation of an advisory team to guide project activities, research to determine priority areas for program improvement, compilation of data from annual reports on dual credit and dual enrollment course offerings, research to identify best practices in dual credit, and information on dual credit state and local policies and programs.
